L&N 159

Built by the International Car Co. in 1952, this caboose used to go on the back of freight trains operated by the Chicago, Indianapolis and Louisville Railroad; better known as the Monon Line. First known as C-366, and later 81506, the car served well after the Monon was merged into the Louisville and Nashville in 1972, being repainted and renumbered as 912, then 6912, then 159, and finally Seaboard System 12159. This caboose was retired from service in the late 1980s, and has been in our collection since. *This Piece of equipment is stored off site and is not currently available for viewing.
